Brian - it would be very difficult to add an oderant that wouldn't "pile up" in nooks and crannies in a refrigeration system causing performance and potentially safety issues. Using mercaptans in natural gas and LPG works well for most uses, but it's tough to duplicate (and there are situations such as new, "fresh" piping, where oderants can be adsorbed and not work well even for NG and LPG!)
