Still one of the top questions and issues we come across today... ASME Data Sheets for Pressure Vessels.  As I have written here many times, OSHA states U1 forms are NOT required for complying with the PSI requirements but don't think for a second that a U1 form is not necessary for a fully functioning process safety management system.  So it is my professional opinion that U1 forms and ALL other documentation regarding our pressure vessels are an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE.  I can assure you, any certified vessel inspector will ask for the U1 form so that he/she can see the construction specs for the vessel, mainly the nominal thickness of the shell and head/dish, data that is not ordinarily provided via the vessel's nameplate.  We need our U1 forms!

Now The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors has made ordering these U1 forms MUCH EASIER by setting up an on-line system.  You may order up to four (4) data reports (per order) online, and will need the following identifying information for the boiler/pressure vessel:
