The New England Safety Training (NEST) Alliance Sub Committee is happy to announce the material is ready and we can start to spread the word about the Scissor Lift Stand Down.  We are asking this to be scheduled anytime on your project during the week of May 4-10, 2014 in an effort to raise safety awareness about crushing and tip over hazards while operating scissor lifts in the Construction Industry.

NEST Scissor Lift Awareness Training is in response to the five fatal Caught-in-Between (CIB) accidents recorded in New England during the month of December 2013. Two of these CIB accidents were scissor lift operators and one was operating an aerial lift, so our NEST Alliance Committee put together some basic hazard awareness training material designed for the stand down that will be introduced at this month’s Roundtable meeting. It is the hopes that all CSR-EM member companies and organizations will help in promoting and participating in this safety event.  The use of aerial lifts and work platforms is commonplace in construction, used in virtually every trade, and the potential for accidents is very high.  The inherent dangers make it essential for every contractor to understand the training required for the safe use of this equipment:
